General information for visitors

Just a few days remain before the fields in Bohnice and Troja host a big event. There will be hundreds of people around the ballparks. Participants, organizers, but mainly spectators and fans, all have to pay attention to some basic rules so the championship can be enjoyed in the best possible way. In the following article, you’ll get to know all of the important things necessary before your visit.

Tickets

Tickets for the European Championship can be bought at the entrances to both ballparks as well as through ticketing networks TICKETPRO and SAZKA TICKET. A one-day ticket costs CZK 100 (€4), with children under 10 getting free entrance. A whole-week ticket costs CZK 500 (€20). More on tickets here.

Transportation

Both ballparks are in suburban Prague, but still quite reachable by public transportation. We recommend this to all visitors who would like to avoid possible problems with parking. If you come by car to Bohnice, there will be a signed parking lot next to the main street. On the other side in Troja, there are no parking spaces guaranteed by the organizing committee.

A great connection to Svoboda Park is provided by buses no. 102 and 200, which go quite often from the subway station (line C) Kobylisy. After a 10-minute ride, get out at the final bus stop Sidliste Bohnice and walk along a signed road on Fertekova St. straight to the ballpark. For getting to Troja, your best connection is from subway station (line C) Nadrazi Holesovice. There you have a choice of taking bus no. 112 or tram no. 17, both of them will get you to stop Trojska, where you can get out right in front of the ballpark.

Transport from one ballpark to the other will take you under half an hour. From Trojska, take tram no. 17 to Kobylisy, where you can switch to bus no. 102 or 200 to get to Sidliste Bohnice. Maps and a detailed description of the route can be found here.

Seats in the grandstands

By buying a ticket, you don’t have a seat reservation in the grandstands. The stands behind the backstop and the assembled stand at Svoboda Park have a limited capacity, which will probably be filled during the most popular games. Therefore, the earlier you arrive, the better chance you have of getting a good seat. We recommend to everybody who would like to see the game well to get to the ballpark early. There are also seats in the stands reserved for organizers, teams and journalists.

Refreshments

Both ballparks will have concession stands with food and drinks for sale. At Svoboda Park (Bohnice), there will be two stands with beer and non-alcoholic beverages and next to the field there will be a stand with beverages and grilled food. The ground floor of the clubhouse will be open to visitors as well at both ballparks.

Merchandising and softball equipment

Besides food and drinks, there will also be the possibility to buy softball equipment at Svoboda Park from the company Vavrusa Sport, which will operate a stand inside the ballpark. There will also be souvenirs for sale, such as official tournament t-shirts and posters, which can be later signed by the players.

Smoking

Please, remember there is a strict ban on smoking in both ballparks except designated areas. Be attentive to the other visitors, children, and players in the ballpark.

Entertainment, kids and dogs

There will be music and live commentary during games at both ballparks, even competitions for the late games. Kids can try a batting simulation in the batting cages and, in Svoboda Park, there are also two playgrounds and a bouncy castle. Dogs are forbidden from entering both ballparks.
