Dutch edge Italy in pitching duel, win 3rd straight European Championship

After almost scoring at will through most of the tournament, Team Netherlands had their bats nearly silenced today by Italy, as Mara Papuzzi, Gretta Cecchetti and strong Italian defence limited them to 4 hits in the game. Montanari magic gives Italians confidence facing Dutch

The Netherlands and Italy will meet for the second time in this tournament in Saturday´s final. On Friday afternoon, they met for the first time with the Dutch taking it 7-3. But it seemed what everyone was talking about after the game was the performance of one Italian player with the glove and the bat. Italian bats rally, earn berth in final with 10-1 win

Team Italy scored five runs in each of the second and third innings to power their way past the Czech Republic to a 10-1 victory in five innings. Czechs eliminate Russia, will play for a medal on Saturday

A Czech-Russia encounter always gets attention, regardless of the sport. In this game, the Czechs exploded for seven runs in the first two innings, then cruised to an 8-3 victory.
